Single Stapler Sleeve Gastrectomy
Single Fire Bariatric Stapler
During a standard Sleeve Gastrectomy, up to 80% of the stomach is divided by using multiple fires from a stapler device.
Recently, a new technology has been introduced to the market that allows the surgeon to perform a sleeve gastrectomy with just one-single-fire, thus, reducing the length of the surgery and anesthesia compared to multistapler technique
One of its main advantages is that it reduces variability when constructing the gastric tube.
According to early clinical research, some of the advantages of the single-fire-Sleeve include:
-
Improvement of post operative nausea
-
Less anesthesia time
-
Improved procedure time and operational efficiencies
NOTE: Not all patients may be candidates to undergo sleeve gastrectomy using this technology. Eligibility is based on previous surgeries in the stomach or other health conditions.
